Run The Telltale in your area

The Telltale is a free monthly paper for boaters, sailors, and the waterfront: two pages, front and back, left at marinas, yacht clubs, cafés, and shops. We're looking for people to start an edition in their own harbour town.

What you'd do

  • Sign up local advertisers. Each issue has 20 slips for ads down the sides.
  • Gather local news. Club news, events, and photos from your waterfront. Readers can send theirs in, and every month comes with stories, a quiz, a recipe, a knot, a word search, and jokes ready to use.
  • Print it and drop it off. Copies go to your pick-up spots at the start of each month.

What comes with it

  • Your own edition at thetelltale.ca/your-town, with back issues online, a free monthly email for readers, and an events calendar they can subscribe to.
  • The studio: an issue editor with a true-size preview that checks everything fits, an ad library, a content library to plan ahead, and readers' submissions in one place.
  • Ads that show results: every ad's QR code and online link is counted, so advertisers can see who looked.
  • Spot the Burgee, the monthly contest that has readers looking through every ad.
